Sewing Machine Weight 

The weight of both machines are almost the same. Technically speaking, Brother CS6000i is .2 lbs lighter than XR1300. You won't notice it, come on.

Hard Cover 

CS6000i scores here as it comes with one. XR1300 doesn't have a cover. In the accessories department, CS6000i also comes with a walking foot, which is not the case with XR1300.

Performance wise, there is nothing to choose between the two. Since XR1300 is an intermediate sewing machine, one must expect it to have much more variety of stitches to experiment. Those 70 extra stitches that XR1300 has adds a lot to the creativity. It doesn't mean that CS6000i is inferior to XR1300. It sure is a beginners favorite. If you are under tight budget, CS6000i is definitely a good machine to consider.
