Singer 4423 Vs 4432 Comparison In Detail

Singer 44 series is popular for their 'heavy duty' tag. 44 series offered entry level heavy duty sewing machines in an affordable range. This combined with good features and stitch quality along with a powerful motor made 44 series machines one of the most sort after entry level machines in the market. There are many models in the series. Singer 4423 and 4432 are two popular machines among them. There isn't a whole lot of difference between them, but there is an important difference. Let us see which one suits you.

Singer 4423 Vs 4432 - Major Feature Differences

The obvious difference you can pick straightaway is the signt difference in color. Singer 4423 comes in kind of light grey color and 4432 comes in slightly dark grey. Other than that, it is difficult to pick another difference, especially if you are not experienced.

Built-in Stitches

This is the main difference between Singer 4423 and 4432. So the choice is based on this feature most of the time. Indicated by the last two digits of their respective model numbers, Singer 4423 comes with 23 built-in stitches and Singer 4432 comes with 32 built-in stitches.

The number of basic stitches are the same on both machines (6 of them). However 4432 comes with extra 3 stretch stitches and 6 decorative stitches in comparison with 4423. The split of stitches are given below

Singer 4423 : 6 Basic Stitches, 4 Stretch Stitches, 12 Decorative Stitches and 1 one-step buttonhole.

Singer 4432 : 6 Basic Stitches, 7 Stretch Stitches, 18 Decorative Stitches and 1 one-step buttonhole.

Common Features

Both machines come with heavy duty tag. They come with beginner friendly features like automatic needle threader, top drop-in bobbin, one-step buttonhole, extra high presser foot lifter, free arm etc. More than these features, one thing I really loved about these machines is the motor. While most sewing machines in the segment came with 750-900 Stitches/min motor, Singer's 44 series came with 1,100 Stitches/min motor. The motor is a beast and it is super fast.

Editor comment

The stitch quality on both machines are the same, there isn't any difference you can pick. The difference is in the stitch variety, where Singer 4432 has a slight upper hand over 4423. So if extra 3 stretch stitches and 6 decorative stitches are important for you, then you can go with 4432. Otherwise you can choose 4423 and be happy as all other features are almost the same.
