Singer S10 Vs Brother PE770 Comparison In Detail
Singer S10 is a new model in comparison with Brother PE770. For many years, PE770 has been one of the most wanted embroidery machines. It's been a hot favorite ever since it was launched. There are no signs of slowing down even this year. Singer S10 is very popular in the entry level category. It has good features and comes with large number of included accessories. The comparison of these two wonderful sewing machine will be interesting.
Singer S10 Vs Brother PE770 - Major Feature Differences
Both are embroidery only machines. They have many features in common. LCD Touch Screen, automatic needle threader, top drop-in bobbin, USB connectivity, built-in memory, 650 Stitches/min speed etc are some of the common features that you can find on both machines. Lot of features are common, likewise there are some differences as well.
Built-in Embroidery Designs
Singer S10 comes with 55 built-in embroidery designs, whereas Brother PE770 has 136 designs built-in. So PE770 has 81 extra designs built-in. But S10 comes with an included CD that contains 2800 designs. In my opinion, the number of designs doesn't really matter as both machines come with USB connectivity to import designs from external sources. You can import whatever design you like, which means the creativity limit is infinite on these machines. Both machines also have built-in memory to save designs, but they are limited in space.
Embroidery Area & Hoops
The maximum embroidery area on S10 is 5.5" x 5.5" and that on PE770 is 5" x 7". You can't say that one is better than the other. It all depends on user requirements. However, one good thing about S10 is that it comes with two hoops 5.5"x5.5" and 2"x2". PE770 comes with only 5" x 7" hoop. So if you want to do smaller designs on PE770, you will have to purchase a smaller hoop.
Lettering Fonts
Brother PE770 comes with 6 built-in lettering fonts, whereas Singer S10 has only 3.
Screen Brightness
The screen brightness on S10 is adjustable but it is not possible on PE770.
Programmable Needle Up/Down
Brother PE770 comes with a programmable needle up/down button, which tells the machine to stop the needle in up or down position. This is not available on Singer S10.
Automatic Thread Cutter
PE770 has an automatic thread cutter, but on S10 it is not available. However a manual thread cutter is provided on the side.
Accessories
Brother PE770 comes with standard accessories like 1 hoop, Seam ripper, bobbins, needle set, cleaning brush, screw drivers, spool caps, spool net, scissors, accessory bag, manual, reference guide, soft cover etc. Singer S10 on the other hand comes with a whole bunch of accessories like 2800 Designs CD, templates and editing softwares like AutoPunch™, HyperFont™, Advanced Editing. Other included accessories that come with S10 are Bobbins (Class 15, plastic), Lint Brush, Auxiliary Spool Pin, Spool Pin Felt, Thread Spool Stand, Thread Spool Caps, Scissors, Screwdrivers, Needles, Template Sheets, Instruction Manual, Quick Start Guide, Power Cord, Soft-Sided Dust Cover
Editor comment
In terms of embroidery stitch quality, both machines are excellent. Stitch quality is one thing that you can trust these machines for. In my opinion, you can't simply say that one machine is better than other. Both Singer S10 and Brother PE770 have their own merits and demerits. So you will have to clearly analyze the available features and use your personal judgement.
