Brother LS2125i Review

Brother LS2125i Review In Detail

Brother LS2125i is the king of basic stuffs. Even though it lacks couple of user friendly features, it still is one of the best you can get in the price segment.

Editor rating

Brother LS2125i is an affordable, value for money, beginners sewing machine. It is very simple to use, so it suits beginners quite well. It includes most features required by beginners. It comes with easy bobbin  winding and built-in free arm for sewing cylindrical items. The 25 year limited warranty is something we are pretty much used to.

Brother LS2125i comes with 10 built-in stitches including elastic, straight, blind hem and zigzag stitching. The twin needles lets you sew with dual colors. The light illuminates the work space pretty well. Weighing at just 13 lbs, it is easy to carry around. Lightweight makes it easy to carry to sewing classes.  You might have to buy a carrying case, if you want to take it to classes or something. The auto-buttonhole attachment works perfect. The stitch selector dial is user-friendly. Bobbin winding is super easy as well.

The pedal is pressure sensitive and works perfectly well according to the increased and decreased speeds. Another thing to note is that, you must use the recommended bobbins, other standard size bobbins would be too small for this machine.

Drawbacks

From beginners' point of view Brother LS2125i, misses out on two important features. The automatic needle threader and top drop-in bobbin (Even though it is asking too much from a machine in this price segment, it still is a miss).

The automatic needle threader threads the needle for you and top drop-in bobbin is easy to use as you just need to drop the bobbin in, rather than removing the side storage compartment to change the bobbin. So if you are looking for a beginner machine with automatic needle threader, drop-in bobbin and One-step buttonhole, you will be better of going with something like the Brother XM2701.

Pros

•    Affordable
•    Easy to use
•    Excellent for beginners
•    Great sewing

Cons

•    No automatic needle threader
•    No top drop-in bobbin
