Brother XL2610 Review

Brother XL2610 Review In Detail

Brother XL2610 has almost all the features needed by a beginner. The only thing missing is the 1-step buttonhole. It has good stitch quality as well.

Editor rating

Brother XL2610 is a cute little, entry level beginners machine. It is a mechanical sewing machine. Stitches are selected by turning the dial. If you look at the features, it seems to have all the features a beginner will look for. It comes with 25 built-in stitches and 59 stitch functions. The built-in stitches include quilting stitches, garment construction stitches, decorative sewing stitches, stretch stitches and a blind hem stitch. It has an automatic needle threading system. The drop-in bobbin makes it very easy to change the bobbins. It has a manual thread cutter as well.

Brother XL2610 comes with a motor that is capable of delivering 800 stitches/minute. This machine has free arm sewing capability as well. This machine weighs just 11 pounds, so you can carry it easily with the carry handle provided. So Brother XL2610 would be a good option, if you are planning to take it to your sewing classes. There is an LED work light also, which does a very good job in illuminating the work space. This machine comes with a 25 year limited warranty.

Ease of Use

Brother XL2610 is an easy to use sewing machine. It does come with some plastic parts. It does a good job with multiple layers of denim and it is quite good with lighter fabrics. Threading the machine was quite easy. For the segment XL2610 belongs, it is an impressive machine.

One limitation of this machine is that it comes with a 4-step buttonhole instead of 1-step. With the 4-step buttonhole, you will have to go through 4-steps to make a buttonhole.
