Editor rating

Singer 9960 is definitely one of the best sewing machines available in USA, if not the best. This sewing machine suits a pro user. If you sew a lot and you want a workhorse, this is the one you are looking for. Its high end features add great value for this product. Singer 9960 comes with 600 built in stitches including 5 alphabets to chose from.

Ease of Use

The user manual that comes with  Singer 9960 is simple and easy to understand. Singer 9960 is an easy to use sewing machine. There is nothing confusing about this product. You can mirror image with just a touch of a button, which is a very cool feature. The elongation button helps you to elongate the stitches for up to 5 times. The variety of stitches makes projects look professional and polished.
You can easily sew button holes in one step. Singer 9960 provides 13 buttonhole styles to chose from. The buttonhole under plate ensures that the buttonholes are in perfect shape. Quantum stylist will automatically recommend the presser foot for a particular type of stitch, so no guess work is required. The machine is quiet as well, may be one of the quietest you could ever find.
The heavy duty metal frame provides perfect alignment and durability. Singer 9960 Quantum Stylist works equally well with heavy and light fabrics, may be one of the reason why professional sewers choose this one. When you finish sewing, you just need to press the automatic thread cutter button and the machine will cut the top end bobbin thread, which saves time.
The Dual LED lights illuminate the work area quite well. The LCD screen works great. It is easier to transport this machine as well (weighs 18.2 lbs). The large selection of presser feet (18 of them) is more than enough to satisfy an advanced user. The included extension table provides larger working space. The extension table comes really handy when you are dealing with larger projects. The auto tension system in Singer 9960 ensures stable stitch quality.
The auto-pilot feature is pretty cool. You press a button and the machine finishes off for you, how cool is that? The speed control feature gives you a grip on the overall sewing process.

Presser foot pressure is not adjustable. Such an option would have made this machine picture perfect.
